    KINLIST

    TOMOKO KUROKI (WATAMOTE)

Tomoko reminds me a lot of myself when i was in middle school(which is also when i first watched watamote). She's a lonely, weird, nerd with no social skills who would do most anything for attention. And so was I. As a child I never really understood why everyone thought I was weird and no one wanted to be friends with me, it all just seemed so easy to everyone else. Seeing someone like myself, tho fictional, really helped my younger self come to terms with my own "weirdness"(which i now know was just undiagnosed, untreated autism.) On that note, I do honestly believe Tomoko is autistic, whether the author intended that or not. It simply makes too much sense to me, tho I am bias.

    KONATA IZUMI (LUCKY STAR)

Konata is a similar story to Tomoko for me. The big difference, obviously, being that Konata has a group of friends. This was also very important to me, seeing that having friends was actually a possibility. Another thing I like about Konata is she gives zero shits. She is unashamed to be a huge nerd and I honestly admire that. She literally could not care less if someone thinks she's weird. As weird as it sounds I genuinely do admire Konata in a sense I wish I could be more like her. I often find myself thinking about her when I feel embarassed of my interests. She's also just one of my favorite characters ever, she's probably my highest comfort character, Lucky Star in general is also a huge comfort to me(I've watched it 4 times now and that number only keeps going up).

MIDORI ASAKUSA (KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF EIZOUKEN!)

Asakusa is, I believe, the only canon autistic character on this lost(creator said he based her off of himself and he is autistic). Asakusa's serious passion for art is something I relate to and admire. The scene in the first episode showing exactly when her brain sparked for animation felt like a flashback to my own childhood; watching The Last Unicorn for the first time and being amazed by the beauty of it. She also lacks social skills and is incredibly shy and awkward, though seeing her build relationships with the other girls warms my heart in a way that no other animation has ever made me feel before. I believe Eizouken is genuinely the best anime in pretty much every way.

    MISC CHARACTERS

I dont have long, personal paragraphs about why I relate to these characters. For most of them its just cuz theyre weird nerd girls and I feel that, I was that once.

    FUTABA SAKURA(PERSONA 5)
    HIYORI TAMURA(LUCKY STAR)
    CHIAKI NANAMI(DANGANRONPA 2)
